HAPPY NEW YEAR to every one on this beautiful earth. Let the year 2013 be an year without major wars, unwanted economic collapses in any place. Let there be more understanding and tolerance among the human kind at home and in the wider society.

14.07.12, Saturday 6.30 a.m. from Kauai,Aloha State.

Twelve coconut trees in front of me are fanning with their multi-fingered hands. The Pacific ocean a few yards away is prviding her endless music of the waves-one of the many voices of the universe. The waves touch the shore and draw back into the deep from where they come. Life, we dream of sometimes, like the wave appears to reach the goal but never there where we want it to be. Nothing is lost.

Life is a motion
Like a wave in the ocean
Rolls and swirls back and forth.
Be like the Star in the North
Firm and steadfast
Leading and guiding to the last
Never give up
Never lose hope.
“The best is yet to be”
Hidden somewhere to be
Believe and it will be
The one you want it to be.

Life is hard, sometimes flimsy
Life is opaque, most often transparent
Life is egotistic but lends itself to humbleness.
Life is mysterious, also an open book
Infinite are its volumes
Insidious are its secrets
Inevitable is its voluminousness
Infinity is its goal.
Finite is its span of existence
Funny when it pours out
Fantasies and phantoms
Familiar still frightening.
Endless are its propects
Earnestness and expectations
Every minute and every hour
Enlightens LIFE itself.

Human Mind

Written by Varatha on May 26, 2012 – 1:11 pm -

Translation from my Tamil book of verses, “The Voice of a Flower” .

Human mind is like
A bee that drinks the nectar and is dizzy
A fly that has never tasted the nectar

A cuckoo that sings and flies
A kite that flies without singing

A cloud that brings showers of rain
Some heat that brings drought and famine

A rabbit that hides in the bushes for safety
A lion that majestically jumps out in style

A creeper that grows loaded with flowers
A rock that neither moves nor flowers

A happy and smiling child
A diappointed and angry young lady

A horse that runs round and round in a circle
A sparrow that flies in the sky, knowing no bounds

A peak that is as high as the Everest
A ravine that is deep and immeasurable

A full, flooding river that is destructive
Ultimately changes into the verse of a poet.

I am back!

Written by Varatha on May 25, 2012 – 6:16 am -

Today is the 25th day of May 2012, Friday morning. I can hear the sound of a bird chirping from a distance. The morning sun shines and makes the green leaves on the plants in the garden happy. The gold finch have not visited our garden for two days.
I don’t exactly know why.May be the the seeds in the bird feeder are too old for them. These birds are very sensitive about the newness of the food. If they are not here for another two days I have to buy a brand new packet of nettle seeds for them and try.
This might be a trivial topic but what do i learn from this experience? Fresh and healthy food is essential for humans as well for our wellbeing. Let us learn from the birds.
